Stainless Steel 347H pipe fittings are constructed of an austenitic stainless steel alloy with a chemical content of 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and more carbon content (0.04–0.10%) than 347. This added carbon enhances high-temperature strength and creep resistance. The columbium (niobium) stabilizes the alloy, avoiding precipitation of carbides when welding and high heat for extended periods of time. The mechanical properties are a tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa. Fittings retain structure and corrosion resistance up to 870°C.
